Time flies, it's almost one month passed since last trip to Japan. I didn't have time to record my trip till now. In fact, I just took out my notebook from my bag from my last trip, left and forgotten.

Taking SQ672 Singapore to Nagoya, the next day 9:00 am arrived at Nagoya, I sent my big luggage via Tiaqubin, then took the express train to Nagoya station.
Exchanged JR pass and made reservation to Takayama.
I went to Climbing gear shop to have some last mintues shopping, with a kind salesman's help, I bought a gaiter and sweat top (Yen 11,700)
At 12:48 Took Hida 11 to takayama.
Around 3:00pm, checked in Takayama 櫻Ouan. It was raining, the town felt quiet. Lots of shop were closed, later I got to know that many shops were closed on Tuesday, I ended up having a beef don in a ramen shop.

Waking up at 7:30am, after breakfast, I decided to go to Shirakawago. It was good to go early. Though it was raining, the atmosphere of 白川郷 in the raining was kind of special. I like to see the clouds in the middle of mountains.
At the shop, I felt that the locals were not as friendly as before, towards tourists, maybe as the result of over-tourism. The non stop incoming tourists must take away the peace of this town.
I bought a postcard here and sent to my daughter from this red post!
I finished early, and left around 11:40am. Then straightaway took Hida train to Gero. Gero is a famous onsen town.
I reached there in about one hour, and went to tourist information certer, asked their recommendation for 日帰り温泉。 The lady kindly advised me 幸な湯. the temperature of the onsen was very hot about 47 degree . After that I went to onsen street. Maybe because of rain, there were no many people. I had トロざるそば for lunch, then took the train back to Takayama.
The hotel I stayed has three 貸切風呂、I took one of them, it was so nice. The hotel is bit old, but location is very near to JR station, about 3 minutes walk, the room is very clean, onsen is great. Overall the service was good too. They also provide free ramen at night. A small gesture, but goes a long way.
