One after another......

A month after my daughter broke her arm, my son was admitted to the hospital for a minor surgery.

Sometimes, good things come in pairs, but challenges often follow one after another.

It all started with a small wound on his leg, but it became infected and worsened until his whole foot was swollen. I took him to the A&E at SGH, where we waited for almost four hours before a doctor finally examined him. After assessing his condition, the doctor decided he needed to be admitted for surgery to drain the pus and treat the infection.

My son was upset—he didn’t think it was that serious and felt it was a waste of time, especially since he was busy with his studies and training. But I stood firm, insisting that he follow the doctor’s advice. After all, he will be a doctor himself one day.

Thankfully, after two days of waiting, the operation was successfully completed, and he was discharged two days later.

Life gives us both wonderful and unexpected moments. Through it all, for better or worse, we give thanks to God.
