Singapore is FINE city.

Singapore has reputation of being a FINE city, do you know that?  For those who are planning to visit Singapore in future,  it would be better to know in order not to get into unnecessary trouble.

Many may know the commons fines for spitting, littering and eating chewing gum, but there are some unnoticed fines for foreigners: ( for Japanese especially)

  • Entering an MRT when it is full: Fine S$500
  • Naked at home if be seen: Fine S$2000
  • Keep a cat at HDB flat: Fine S$4,000　
    • (** HDB: Government public housing）
  • Touting In Public Places – Fine Of Between $1,000 To $5,000 And/or Jail
  • Connecting To Your Neighbor’s Wifi Without Permission – Fine Of Up To $10,000 
  • Rummaging Through Refuse Bins For Freecycling – Fine Of Up To $1,000
  • Not Flushing Public Toilets – Fine Of Up To $1,000
  • Sitting In The Car With The Engine Idling – Fine Of Up To $2,000
  • Feeding Of Pigeons – Fine Of Up To $500
  • Climbing tree in the part - Fine of up to $500.

Recently of course, Not wearing mask Fine S$300.

Singapore also has one of severest penalty for drug trafficking;  Another thing worthwhile noticing is:  According to Section 377A of the Penal Code , criminalized any sexual act that went "against the order of nature": such as gay sex.  Be careful not to show it public too.

As the result of many fines, and also thanks to our education systems, since young, we also have systematic behavior regulations by fines, Singapore is to be one of cleanest city in the world.

When we go to overseas, very often we have culture shocks.  The only country I can find that can compete with Singapore in terms of cleanness, is Japan.  To my amazement, in Japan, I cannot find dustbins on the street.  Yet the street is pristine clean. So maybe I can say Japan is FINER country.

 シンガポールはFINE都市であるという評判があります、皆さんはそれを知っていますか？ 将来シンガポールを行く予定する人は、不必要なトラブルに巻き込まれないように知っておくとよいでしょう。

多くの人は、吐いたり、ポイ捨てしたり、チューインガムを食べたりした場合の罰金を知っているかもしれません。外国人にとって最も見過ごされている罰金のいくつかご紹介しましよう:　(特に日本人にとって）

1.満員電車のときに電車に入る：罰金S $ 500

2.見られたら自宅で裸：罰金S $ 2000

3.HDBでニコを飼っている：罰金S $ 4,000　

4.公共場所での宣伝–1,000ドルから5,000ドルの罰金および/または刑務所

5.許可なく隣人のWi-Fiに接続する–最高$ 10,000および/または刑務所の罰金

6.フリーサイクリング用のゴミ箱をくまなく探す–最高$ 1,000の罰金

7.公衆トイレを洗い流さない–最高$ 1,000の罰金

8.エンジンがアイドリングしている状態で車に座っている–最高$ 2,000の罰金

9.とり餌やり–最高500ドルの罰金

10. 公園で木を登る- 最高500ドルの罰金 (Maxさん　気をつけてね)

最近はもちろん、マスクを着きいていない罰金S $ 300。

シンガポールはまた、麻薬に対して最も厳しい罰則を持っています：死刑判決。もう一つは、に注意を払う必要がされています、刑法第377A条によると、ゲイのセックスなど、「自然の秩序に反する」性行為を犯罪とみなしたことです。 公開しないように注意してください。

海外に行くとカルチャーショックを受けることがよくあります。 清潔さのつぃてシンガポールとより唯一の国は日本です。 不思議なことに、日本では路上にゴミ箱がありませんが。それでも通りはきれいです。 ですから、日本はより良い国だと言えるかもしれません。
